The King’s Course

Classic Championship Course at Gleneagles

The King’s Course is one of the most historic layouts at Gleneagles and is widely regarded as one of James Braid’s finest designs. Opened in 1919, the course offers classic inland golf with a parkland character set in rolling and scenic surroundings.

The layout features well-maintained fairways, strategically placed bunkers and a series of distinctive holes, each with its own identity. It demands precision and sound judgement, providing a balanced challenge for golfers of varying abilities. The traditional hole names add a clear Scottish character to the experience.

The King’s Course has hosted several editions of the Scottish Open and is recognised for its strong championship credentials. Together with the other courses at Gleneagles, it delivers a classic and varied golfing experience in contrast to the links courses along the east coast.
